Dariusz Kanarek, born in Warsaw in 1973, has been living in the United States since 1990. He graduated from the University of New Haven with a degree in Multimedia Arts and Music & Sound Recording and completed his master’s at New York University in Digital Imaging and Design. His early career included roles at NBC/Comcast, where he won multiple awards for his work in sound and video editing, and later as Vice President at Comedynet, collaborating with notable actors like Lewis Black and Ray Romano.
In 2007, Kanarek shifted his focus to multimedia development at Taunton Press, overseeing photography and video departments and managing numerous multimedia projects. His contributions led to the release of over 70 video-DVD titles, 10 digital book and magazine libraries and collaborations with many prominent publishing brands. In 2015, he served as a U.S. Marketing Director for the Canadian multimedia company INM, before dedicating himself entirely to his passion for photography in 2017.
As a photographer, Kanarek’s work has been published in Connecticut Post, Hartford Courant, Westport Lifestyle and other notable publications. He became the official photographer for CityLights Gallery and Bridgeport Art Trail, earning recognition as Bridgeport’s “Artist of the Month.” His exhibitions, supported by the Connecticut Arts Council & Foundation, highlight the migration stories of local artists through portraits and documentaries. Since 2023, he has served as president of the Polish-American Photographic Club.
